Zoe Saldana was born on June 19, 1978 in Passaic, New Jersey, to Asalia Nazario and Aridio Saldana. Her father was Dominican while her mother was Puerto Rican. She was born in Queens. As she reached the age of 10 years old, she and her parents moved to Dominican Republic. They lived in the Dominican Republic for seven more years. Zoe discovered a love for dance performance while living within the Republic of Dominicana.
