Arianna Huffington

Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington, a Greek American businesswoman and syndicated journalist, is also an author. She is a co-founder of The Huffington Post the founder and CEO of Thrive Global and the author of fifteen books. Arianna Huffington is a writer TV personality, philanthropist, and owner of the independently open online newsmagazine The Huffington Post. Originating from Greece Arianna Huffington emigrated to England with her family at 16 years old. While at Cambridge University she earned a MA qualification in Economics. The first graduate from outside the UK to become the president of The Cambridge Union at the age of 21. She was an author for a conservative newspaper after the graduation ceremony and, when The Huffington Post launched a year later, she developed an online voice platform that offered criticisms on political scenarios. The fame of her name helped in getting several high-profile contributors to publish their thoughts about news from the world of politics and culture. Arianna gained fame when she made the decision to run independently for the California recall election in order to succeed then Governor Davis. In addition, she was the leader of a Detroit project to promote vehicles that are fuel efficient. Forbes placed her at 12 on their list of the Top Influential Media Women. Guardian also included the HuffingtonPost in their list of the top 100 in 2010. AOL Inc. made her the President of their media group in 2011 after they bought The Huffington Post. The Huffington Post also included other AOL brands such as Engadget AOLmusic Style list and Patch Media. Elli Stasinopoulos is the daughter of Konstantinos an advisor to management and a journalist. Her life was shaped by her closeness to her mother and her bond with her dad, despite her being very close to her father. Even in her formative age she demonstrated the qualities of a leader that she is still known for. When she was in her 16th year she travelled to England to pursue her studies and was enrolled in Girton College Cambridge. She enrolled in the Cambridge Union college debate society during her time at college in which she became the third and first female to serve as president. In 1972, she earned a master's degree in Economics. Following her graduation, she was employed as a critic for a newspaper column and an anchor on TV.
