Arianna Huffington

Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington has been an Greek American columnist, author and businesswoman for over 20 years. She has written fifteen books, and she is co-founder of The Huffington Post. Arianna Huffington is a writer TV personality, philanthropist, and owner of the independently open online newsmagazine The Huffington Post. Born in Greece then moved to England when she was 16. When she attended Cambridge University, she graduated with an MA of Economics. She was the first student from outside the UK to be elected the president of The Cambridge Union at the age of 21. Her success as a columnist of the conservative side was confirmed after she completed her studies. After the launch of The Huffington Post a few years later, she created an online voice portal that offered an honest assessment of the current political situation. The celebrity she enjoyed helped her to convince several famous people to share their opinions on current events, political and culture. Arianna first gained notoriety in 2003 as she stood in California's recall vote, replacing then Governor Davis. In addition, she was the leader of the Detroit project that promoted the use of fuel-efficient cars. Her name was voted as the most influential women in media in 2009 by Forbes in 2009, gaining 12th position on this list. That same year Guardian named her on the Top 100 Media List. AOL Inc. made her the President of their media division in 2011, after they purchased The Huffington Post. The Huffington Post also included other AOL brands like Engadget, AOLmusic Style list as well as Patch Media. Elli is the daughter of Konstantinos Stasinopoulos, and Elli the other, both of whom are journalist and management consultants. Although she had a close friendship with her mother and father, it was their bond that shaped her. When she was a teen she displayed leadership qualities which she is still renowned for. When she was sixteen, she left America to United Kingdom and enrolled Girton College Cambridge. In the years of her university, she belonged to the Cambridge Union debating group where she was elected the first woman president, and also the sole foreign president. The year 1972 was the year her master's in Economics was awarded. She worked as a critic as well as a host on TV and a columnist after her graduation. The appearance she made in Face the music with Bernard Levin was also noteworthy. She started writing books with his guidance for editing.
